Memoirs of Christ Nagar VIII

Hi to my dear batchmates,

This is the 1001st mail of our batch. I congratulate all of you who
have sent all the past 1000 mails.

Thank you Thomas Mani sir in spending time to send mails to our
group.I still remember you taking Computer Classes for me, details of
which I shall post in subsequent mails in High School Sessions.

BEST WISHES to RAKESH RANJIT on the occasion of your marriage. May
the Lord bless you a prosperous married life.

Welcome to Gopikrishnan who has joined the group. Hope you remember
me.

Continuing with the rest of sessions in Std VI.D,
Biology : It was taught by Mrs.Annie George (wife of George Mathew
sir). She taught us classification of plants & animals, three
infections (Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), setup of a
hospital and others. Her method of teaching was superb.

Physics : VK Joy sir taught the subject. He used to combine his own
ideas, and use to sing in the classes. He taught the mechanism of
sound, airplanes, 4 eminent personalities like Salim Ali, Paintal,
Khurana and others.

Chemistry : Mr.A Suresh was our teacher. This was the easiest
subject, as only three chapters were there. But still remember sir
bringing answer papers in front of us in the class, and valuing them
before us. It included homogenous & heterogeneous mixtures, basics of
nature in chemistry etc.

Social Sciences : Mrs.Betty Balan was our teacher. She taught about
the basic cultural heritage of our country, 2 religions (Christianity
& Islam), 2 developed countries (France & Australia), 2 developing
countries (Zimbabwe & Bengladesh), significant landscapes like plain,
plateau, mountain, rocks etc, important world events like the Magna
Carta (1215), French revolution (1789), Russian revolution etc.
