In South India , the Cheras (around AD 800), the Cholas (Raja Raja Chola & Rajendra Chola) and the Pandyas (around 1200) (Mahendravarman). Back to North India , the Delhi Sultanate under Sultana Raziya till Ibrahim Lodi (defeated by Babur); the Tughlaks, the Khiljis and so on. Mughals from Babur (1498- the first battle of Panipat) through Humayun (Sher Shah in between), Akbar the great (16th century), Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Aurangezeb (1710 -1761) (then small kingdoms till 1862).Sorry for being over descriptive and boring you; now I shall be concise.
