Malayalam II paper: Apart from the composition, we had a supplementary reader "Dharmaraja". The book is mainly an extract from a novel written by Sri.CV Raman Pillai. The theme is that many of the subjects under Marthanda Varma tried to defeat him (like Hari panchanan) and it depicts how the efficient Kesavan Pillai was able to save the king and the kingdom from them. The characters include Kesava Pillai, Marthanda Varma, Kesavan Kunju, Mama Venkidan, Arathama pilla thankachy, Kalaprakkotte Thampy, Annavayyan, Meenakshy, Kuppan, Bhairavan, Ugra/Santha Haripanchananan, Tripura Sundari Kunjamma, Ananda padmanabhan, Umminipillai, Ali Hassan Kunju Pokku moosa Maraikkayar Noohukannu etc. Hope all of you do remember the curse given by Kesava Pilla to Arathamapilla Thankachy in the first chapter, `A adicha kai vazhatte. Innu ningal ente thalayil kulam thondi. Nale I tharavadu kulam kori pokam. Annu kanam shesham.'
